Why do I feel super angry when things don't go my way, and how can I stop it? I don't want to be a meanie to my friends!

GalGal's Answer:

With love from your penguin friend 💜

Dear Samantha, Thank you for sharing your feelings with me! It's completely normal to feel super angry sometimes, especially when things don’t go the way we want. Anger is just a big feeling that we all experience, and it’s okay! It sounds like you care a lot about not being a meanie to your friends, which is really kind of you. When you feel that anger bubbling up, try to take a deep breath, just like blowing up a big balloon! You can also pretend you have Remy the Rumbler right beside you, helping you rumble through those feelings. Maybe you can count to ten, or have a special quiet spot where you can sit and calm down. Remember, it's a practice! The more you use these tools, the easier it will become. And it's really brave to ask for help and to think about how your feelings affect others. Keep being you, and don’t forget that it’s okay to ask for help when you need it. I believe in you! With lots of love, GalGal
